The Nestle foundation will support the The White House Great Outdoors Initiative. According to the White House, “this year’s theme, ‘Building Healthy, More Active Futures,’ reflects a continued focus on the benefits of physical activity and the importance of kids getting enough sleep and nutritious food.” Each Nestle facility will participate in the Fourth of July celebration by hosting a presentation of The Nestle Way, a company-wide set of values that serves as a guide for staff, customers, and communities. The presentation is followed by live entertainment, food and beverage, and activities for children. Beginning on Monday, July 3, products from Nestle-owned Frito-Lay are available in more than 500 grocery stores nationwide through the Kroger Supply Chain for the exclusive Walmart Summer Food Pack. The Nestle-owned brands of Breakstone’s, Lunchables and Dogfood also are featured in a Kroger summer menu, available to families at select locations. Events include: Breakfast with Nestle Ambassadors and Dr. Carolyn Ketcham, the American Academy of Family Physicians’ national spokesperson, at Kroger in Arlington Heights, Ill., on July 3. Musical performances by Jason Van Overe, a Kroger customer and musician for over 10 years, at Kroger in Omaha on July 3 and in Fresno on July 4.
